Here's one theory about soccer and birth month.

As the article said, Practice makes perfect. I believe parental involvement accounts for a good part of success. You sure are not going to get better at something sitting on the couch eating sugar.

I agree on the parental involvement part. My parents have been very involved in almost everything I do, and I have done very in all those things in which they have supported me.

I was talking to all my friends about this and we are all very athletic and were born in the later months of the year.

I really enjoyed reading this article. It offered some interesting points. I have always been told that I have a "natural talent" for things, soccer (fyi: I was born in October), singing, acting, etc. I do believe that "natural talent" is there. However, my talent isn't that I perform exceptionally well as an artist or athlete, my talent is that i have the drive and dedication to be the best I can be and to perform to the best of my abilities at all time. i put much time and effort into what I am "naturally" good at which just makes me that much better. I also agree with the parent involvement statement. My parents along with the rest of my family has been very supportive of me and they offer much encouragement. i would'nt be who i am today with out their little extra push.

i also think that parents are the key in order for the kids to succeed becuase with out the parents involvement they wont have the parson to push them to achive their best and tell them that they are going a great job

I THINKD THAT IF YOU DON'T PRACTICE SOMETING YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO BE A PROFFESIONAL AT IT. LIKE I SAID IN CLASS BEFORE I AM A COSMETOLOGIST AND ALL WE DID IN BEAUTY SCHOOL WAS PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!! NOW MY CLIENTS TELL ME HOW DO I DO THOSE HAIRCUTS SO NICE AND FAST AND I TELL THEM PRACTICE!!!!!

This was weird, but true. I had never thought of it like that before, but it seems to be real. However, I think parents and the type of home a child grows up in has a lot of effect as well.

I dislike this post! I played High School soccer, and for a semi-pro team during my study abroad year in Germany, it could very well have to do with dates though. MMy team captain and best player in germany and high school both had January birthdays. As well as my good friend, who had her birthday in march and is playing college soccer, and is team captain there.
