Its been made very clear that in order to prepare and better our students for careers in a flat world, that education must be improved. It seems that cuts should be made elsewhere before cutting students chances to better themselves and this country.

Raising tuition puts more financial responsibility on the students, which will allow only the richer students to receive an education! All this will do is grant children with upper-class parents the same position in society as their parents. BAD idea.

With tuition costs rising with no intent of stoping is making it hard for middle class kids and lower to get an education. Our country needs education to be succesful. In a time like this with the economy sucking as bad as it does right now, cuts need to be made in other places but not Education because thats what is the most important.

I agree with Steve. And how can schools be properly enriching their students if they are making cuts here and there? What will all those people that can't afford school do?

I agree with Brittany. Soon, middle class students won't be able to go to school. If you think about it, the higher the cost of education, the more who will apply for financial aid, which will just cause a huge issue, and many more college drop outs.

I agree with Stephanie, It makes me think about my daughters future. How will it be? will there be any education for our children? Ughh

Raising the general tuitions makes plenty of sense, but no one should be able to raise the cost of tuition without allowing a longer time to pay it back or allow other ways of contributing to the college so that they may pay off that debt sooner. The standard must be raised on both ends of the spectrum. There is no way to raise college tuition without creating new ways to help students be able to crawl out of debt.

Its ridiculous what is happening with eduacation. Making the tuition higher is making harder and harder for middle class and especially lower class people to get an education. I understand that the economy is in the middle of a crisis but heres a suggestion..dont cut costs at education because the more people with an education will help get us out of this economic tailspin!

The cost of education= already ridiculous. How the HECK are people going to pay if costs go up? In fact, why the HECK would they want to pay more when the government is cutting corners?? No win situation.

Education does need to improve in order to survive in this flat world we live in today. Education is the key to surviving in this flat world.

Financial Aid can only cover so much, i see doezens of students recieving to much financial aid, and they end up spending it on shopping, booze, and clubs. Where as students like myself barley get enough to cover 10 credits and the rest has to be paid out of pocket, including books, and supplies. With the increase in tuition, i doubt it will cover 10 credits next year.

I think this is wrong too! The prices are already extremely high and now to raise them by 14 percent! Id go on strike too but im in running start! This is just outrageous!
