Wow!!!! Did anyone else find the assignment a bit challenging? Even though we had time to research it was still tough for me. In class typing time isnt a really fair way to grade. The syllabus says nothing about WPM. I'll wait to organize a protest until I see what grade my paper received. Over all it wasnt all that tough.

yeah i also feel the same way. I had to hand write it. or as Mr. Peter said i did it "old school" It was fun, and hope that he understands my hand writing.

I couldn't believe how much difficulty I had!
This weekend I picked out the quotes I wanted to use, wrote an outline, and I wrote my rough draft.
The outline helped me zero in class, though. It should have helped me immensely, but it didn't. I had to think way more than I thought that I would have to since I had an outline and quotes ready. I performed poorly on the in-class essay, and it's a shame that I have to use my rewrite opportunity on the TWIF essay.

Wow…that was different… I am a little worried to see what the heck I ended up writing! I actually did better than I thought I would, but I was not expecting much. If we had a little more time I could have proof read it! I am really curious to see how he is going to grade them.

Everybody was typing so fast! When Mr. Peters made a comment, the clicking in the room ceased, and it became so quiet. I’m not sure how it went, but something was coming out of my fingers… I think they took over…

I agree with everybody. I don't think it is fair to have to do an in class essay. But it is good practice. The SAT has an essay you have a short amount of time to write so this is sort of a preparation for people who will be taking the SAT.

I can't type fast either. Thats why I just did mine the old fashioned way. It was hard for me to concentrate because everyone was pounding so hard on the keyboards. I thought I was going to go crazy!

I hate in class essays, I can never organize my thoughts with such a limited time. I got it back and I wasn't surprised on my grade. I am feeling better about the take home essay though.

This was really tough for me. I feel like I cant be as detailed in a 50 minute period than i can if i had a week to do it at home. My paper did have my basic ideas, but I realized that i had 2 more paragraphs to write in about 3 minutes at the end. My conclusion was one sentence. :)

The in class essay was really hard. When I am timed, I freak out and end up drawing a blank sometimes. I did the best I could given that I was overly tired and up half the night revising my outline. I Guess I just trust God and hope for the best.

I really hate in class essay's, i feel so put on the spot when we have to write something within 50 min. I had writers block so bad for the first 10 min. I was afraid I wouldn't finish the essay in time!

I was surprised by this essay, i was very nervous going into it. But walking out i felt very confident and very optomistic on my performance.

I personally didn't bring a piece of paper with the quotes on it, instead I just looked through the book and star'd the ones i wanted. I found the in class essay really fun, but thats how I right my rough draft essays anyways. I just go in and write and don't stop till I am done. I was in the 101 with Mr. Peters and we didn't do this that quarter and I really enjoyed it this quarter and I was overall happy with my ending result with it.
I also enjoyed the question though about class because it is a big issue and we don't really see it...
Thats how I came up with my tittle "appearance"...because we don't really see the problem because we can't see the "poor."

I really like this book. I may just finish it even though it's not required. It's an issue that I haven't really thought about, but as I look around I completely see it.
