Facebook and Egypt

Here's an article.
This is an amazing graph.
Guess who else doesn't want their citizens to know about it?

Looking at the graph and seeing that virtually all internet activity was wiped out in a two hour time frame in Egypt was incredible! I can only imagine that will make people angrier. Back in the old, slow days silencing regular radio or television may have worked to cool things down, but with the instant nature of today’s life and the way we communicate, I think the Egyptian people will see the internet disruption as a hostile act and their reaction will become more hostile.

Wow! That graph really is amazing. But it's good to know that unlike Egypt, "American companies might fall under various regulatory umbrellas that limit the government's power to disrupt communication channels" on the internet. I guess that's kinda cool.

I was amazed when i looked at the graph and saw that in just 2 hours the internet was completely shut down.

Its shocking to see that graph!! Its like so many people were using the internet and in two hours everything was shut down. It was from million people to some number people using the internet. This is shocking, I hope something like this doesn't happen in America. :)

It happened in Egypt. Don't think the government here couldn't possibly do such a thing even under regulatory umbrellas.
How would we know there wasn't some kind of computer crash or glitch? I can imagine certain companies getting toyed with by the government simply to teach a lesson. How many times have we heard that someone HACKED into a system somewhere?? Really? How many times has it really been the government pulling the strings? Guess we will never know for sure.

It is crazy to see how fast things can happen. It was shocking to see the graph because it shows that within a couple hours something so traumatic can happen. It must be difficult to survive in this Flat world with such problem.
