The Cost of War

http://costofwar.com/en/

This is an issue raised by Friedman in "Their Moon Shot and Ours".
You can use the interactive feature to see "Trade Offs".

This is clearly and "anti-war" site, I guess.
But I'd like to leave that debate for someplace other than the comments.
It's just eye opening and a measure of priorities, whether you agree with them or not.

I know it was amazing how fast those numbers just kept going up! It was very interesting to see the number of grants that could have been handed out, instead of being spent on the war.

I won't get into my personal opinion about the war, but this does make you stop and think. Considering the giant deficit we are facing one might suggest this as one of the main causes for it.
